Alonso’s 2004 Renault set to be auctioned in Paris

The Renault R24 that Fernando Alonso campaigned in the final three rounds of the 2004 season is set to go under the hammer in Paris this February.
The R24-07 chassis was driven by Alonso at the 2004 Chinese, Japanese and Brazilian Grands Prix, with Alonso taking P4, P5 and P4 respectively in those races – the last three he raced before embarking on what would become his maiden World Championship-winning season in 2005.

The car’s estimate has been set by auction house RM Sotheby’s at €350,000-450,000, with the R24 – complete with its V10 Renault RS24 engine and Alonso’s own bespoke steering wheel – set to be auctioned in their Paris sale on February 2.
For F1 fans on a tighter budget, the auction will also feature the sale of a static replica showcar of the Ferrari F310, the first Prancing Horse to be driven by Michael Schumacher in 1996, and with a more modest estimate of €60,000-100,000.
Alonso is currently preparing for the 2022 season, meanwhile, with his Alpine team – as Renault became in 2021 – set to launch their new A522 on February 21.
