FORMULA 3: Lundgaard leads from lights to flag for first win

"Yes boys! Finally, come on!" screeched an elated Christian Lundgaard to his engineer, as the Renault F1 junior secured his maiden F3 win.
The Danish driver has enjoyed the perfect weekend so far, finishing P1 in every session. He executed the Sprint Race in style too, leading around the Hungaroring to secure a lights-to-flag win ahead of British duo Max Fewtrell and Jake Hughes.
There was plenty of drama when the lights went out, but Lundgaard managed to avoid all of it, cleanly getting off the line to retain first place. His team mate, Fewtrell, hugged the back of him to skip ahead of Juri Vips, who fell from second to fifth before the first turn, allowing Niko Kari into third.
From here, it was plain sailing and the ART Grand Prix duo never wavered. Movement continued in behind, as Kari eventually succumbed to his struggles with grip and allowed both Vips and Hughes to fly past. The HWA RACELAB man went one better and surged past the Estonian on the penultimate lap in a stylish move down the inside.
PREMA’s miserable weekend continued as Robert Shwartzman could only manage fifth with Marcus Armstrong eighth. It was even worse for Jehan Daruvala, who finished out of the points in 12th and subsequently dropped to third behind Vips in the championship standings.
