McLaren showed that they were the team to beat at Monza as Lando Norris narrowly took pole position over team mate Oscar Piastri, with George Russell slotting into third place as the lead Mercedes.
At the end of an engrossing qualifying session at the Italian Grand Prix weekend, Norris clocked an impressive 1m 19.327s, beating Piastri and Russell by just over 0.1s to take his second pole position in a row.

Meanwhile, it was a tricky qualifying for championship leader Max Verstappen, who could only manage to set the seventh quickest time.
The qualifying hour saw drivers push their cars to the limits with many dipping into the gravel, as Carlos Sainz and Williams rookie Franco Colapinto both came close to ending their sessions early but they managed to stay on track.
