
Why Norris’ Hungary win was built on pace, patience and car control

What a weekend for Lando Norris, who took his first victory as reigning champion in Budapest, on a weekend he put together almost perfectly.
Norris has been driving at a really high level for a while now, punching above the weight of the car he’s been given in the last handful of rounds. His performances in Spain, Silverstone and Spa were all probably worthy of victory contention had he had a car fast enough to fight, but thanks to McLaren’s latest upgrades, he did again in Budapest and the result was emphatic.
