MUST-SEE: Alonso and Stroll hit the track at Silverstone in the Aston Martin AMR24
Aston Martin’s AMR24 challenger for the 2024 season has completed its first laps, after the team carried out a filming day at the Silverstone circuit in the UK.
Following the launch of the car on Monday, Lance Stroll was the first to get behind the wheel of the AMR24 – which Aston Martin hope will give them a platform to compete for their first wins as a team, after scoring eight podiums in 2023 – before two-time world champion Fernando Alonso took the car out in the afternoon session.

With rules changed for filming days in 2024 – allowing an increase from 100km to 200km – the AMR24 completed its first shakedown, with the car the first to be produced in the team’s new AMR Technology Campus (AMRTC) facility, which was completed last year.
Tom McCullough, Aston Martin’s Performance Director, said: “The AMR24 ran really reliably and without any issues all day. It was a successful filming day with the opportunity to secure some data in the background of the full 200km, with Lance running in the morning and Fernando in the afternoon.
“The way the car, our first from the AMRTC, has been built has been really impressive. Every year it gets better and better. So a big thank you to everyone for all of the hard work.”
