MUST-SEE: Wild celebrations in the Haas garage as Magnussen gives team first pole position
Kevin Magnussen sent the Haas team into raptures in Friday qualifying of the Sao Paulo Grand Prix weekend, running first on the road in Q3 and banking a lap before a red flag stoppage ensured his and the team’s first ever pole position.
There was an anxious wait after George Russell beached his Mercedes W13 at Turn 5 and qualifying was red-flagged, with Magnussen sitting on provisional P1. But, with the rain falling steadily, Magnussen had done enough with his lap time of 1m 11.674s to claim his maiden pole position, meaning he'll start first for the Sprint – and sending the Haas garage wild.
Watch the magnificent moment in the video above.
