For the first time in his career, Oscar Piastri will start a Grand Prix from pole position as he lines up his McLaren alongside George Russell’s Mercedes on the front row in China. His team mate Lando Norris rides shotgun from P3, with Red Bull’s reigning World Champion Max Verstappen fourth on the grid for the 56-lap race.
It’s an all-Ferrari third row, with Sprint winner Lewis Hamilton heading Charles Leclerc, while stellar Qualifying performances from Racing Bull’s Isack Hadjar and Mercedes’ Kimi Antonelli sees the two rookies start seventh and eighth respectively. Completing the top 10 are the sister Racing Bull of Yuki Tsunoda and the Williams of Alex Albon.
Starting from the pit lane, meanwhile, will be P20 qualifier Liam Lawson, with the New Zealander hoping that some pre-race set-up changes on his Red Bull in Parc Ferme will help lift what has been a dismal Chinese weekend for him thus far.
