PADDOCK PASS: All the reaction from a record-breaking Portuguese Grand Prix
Lewis Hamilton’s record-breaking 92nd Formula 1 win – which made him the most successful driver in the history of the sport in terms of race victories – was earned by a typically dominant display in the Portuguese Grand Prix, as the drivers raced for the first time at Portimao.
Hamilton may have been the star of the show, but there were some fantastic supporting turns too, with McLaren’s Carlos Sainz opportunistically grabbing a shock race lead on Lap 2 after passing the struggling Mercedes of Valtteri Bottas – while Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc gave the tifosi some hope that the team might have turned a corner with a fine drive to fourth place in the updated SF1000.
