RACE START REPLAY: Polesitter Bottas gets spun around as Verstappen snatches lead in dramatic start in Mexico
Mercedes’ Valtteri Bottas may have started the Mexico City Grand Prix from pole position. But any hopes he might have had of winning the race took a big hit after just a corner and a half, as the Finn was tagged into a spin by the McLaren of Daniel Ricciardo.
That triggered a maelstrom of events behind, as cars were forced to take avoiding action, with Yuki Tsunoda and Mick Schumacher taking early baths after receiving contact, as the Safety Car was immediately called into action.

Max Verstappen was the happy beneficiary of all that, however, the Dutch driver having swept into the lead in front of title rival Lewis Hamilton at the start, after outdragging Bottas beautifully into Turn 1.
