Sebastian Vettel was left unhappy with his strategy in his final race, while Lewis Hamilton was worried about car damage after his elbows-out manoeuvre on the first lap with Carlos Sainz.
Sainz’s Ferrari team mate Charles Leclerc asked for radio silence to allow him to eke out a sufficient gap over Sergio Perez to claim P2 in both the race and the drivers’ standings – while there were a host of goodbyes post-race as drivers got set to move onto new pastures.
