TEAM PROFILE: Can AlphaTauri fight their way up the order in 2022?
AlphaTauri could have counted themselves unlucky last year, pipped to fifth in the constructors’ fight largely by Alpine and Esteban Ocon’s shock Hungarian Grand Prix victory. But it was nonetheless a solid campaign, and one the Faenza team were hoping to build on in 2022.
They have stuck with the same driver line-up, Pierre Gasly’s experience now coupled with the growing confidence of Yuki Tsunoda. But things haven’t quite gone to plan for the team this season – some reliability luck and a few crashes combining to leave them without nearly as many points finishes as they would have hoped.
TEAM PROFILE: Can Mercedes still make it nine in a row?
Seventh in the table after six rounds, they can still turn it around and take the fight to the likes of Alpine and Alfa Romeo ahead – but they’ll need to be clever with the timing of their upgrades this year as the midfield is so tightly matched.
