F1 REWIND: Watch Kimi Raikkonen's extraordinary 2005 Japanese GP win

The Japanese Grand Prix has seen its fair share of epic title deciders: Hunt vs Lauda, Prost vs Senna, Prost vs Senna again, Hakkinen vs Schumacher, and so on. The race has championship drama written into its DNA.

The race we have for you in the video above though took place just after the 2005 title had already been settled – Fernando Alonso having wrapped up his first championship at the previous round in Brazil.

But that didn't make this Grand Prix any less exciting, and if Kimi Raikkonen – the man Alonso was fighting for that title – was heartbroken at losing out, he certainly didn't show it, storming to one of his most incredible victories despite starting down in 17th.

This was also the race that saw that symbolic moment when Alonso overtook Michael Schmuacher – the man whose championship crown he was taking – with a stunning move into the 130R corner.
