It's not just the F1 cars that will be wearing new colour schemes in 2021; Mercedes have refreshed their Safety Car livery too, and now you can see the spicy new red AMG hit the track in Bahrain – along with the brand new Aston Martin Vantage Safety Car – in the video above.
The new-look red Mercedes AMG GT R Safety Car is certainly hard to miss, especially with its yellow lightbar and LED headlamps. And it'll be one of the cars leading the pack in 2021 when called upon by Race Control as, for the first time since 1996, Mercedes will share Safety Car duties with Aston Martin this season, who have a racing green Vantage powered by a 4.0l twin-turbo V8 engine for the job.

Whether Aston or Mercedes, Bernd Maylander will pilot the Safety Car this season while Alain van der Merwe will again drive the Medical Car.
Watch the red AMG and the new Vantage under the lights at Bahrain International Circuit in the video above, as they complete their test runs ahead of pre-season testing, which gets under way on Friday.
