WATCH: Norris walks away after high-speed crash in second practice at Mugello
The Mugello track that is hosting this weekend's Tuscan Grand Prix is an old school racing circuit, full of high speed corners and very little run off in some places – and Lando Norris was the first to feel it bite back when he hit the wall in Friday practice.
The McLaren driver had just begun a new lap when he put his left tyres on the gravel at the exit of Turn 3. The car snapped to the right and as Norris corrected, it snapped back hard left and he slid across the grass before hitting the wall, which ripped off his front wing and spun his car back around again.
Norris was unhurt and climbed out of the car, as the red flags were shown and the session stopped to allow the marshals to recover the McLaren.

The session was halted for around nine minutes before it was restarted – though it was then stopped again with around 15 minutes remaining after Kimi Raikkonen spun off into the gravel at Turn 1, following contact with Racing Point's Sergio Perez who had just emerged from the pits.
