Max Verstappen continued his recent form by setting the fastest lap on Friday at the Mexico City Grand Prix.
The four-time World Champion was immediately on the pace in Mexico, with his 1m 17.392s effort the best of the day - this after sitting out the opening session as Arvid Lindblad took his place as one of nine rookies on the track.
Verstappen's effort is a marker for his championship rivals at McLaren, with Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri having no answer to his pace, ending the day in fourth and 12th places respectively. Although Norris was just 0.251s off, Piastri was 0.840s back.
