George Russell ended the opening day of track action at the Dutch Grand Prix on top after setting the fastest lap of Friday practice.
After mixed conditions in Free Practice 1, the drivers were faced with the challenge of dry but windy weather in the second hour, and it was Russell who put in the quickest time of FP2 with an effort of 1m 10.702s.
FP2: Russell leads Piastri and Hamilton in tight second practice at Zandvoort
The Mercedes driver’s lap was 0.061s clear of that set by McLaren’s Oscar Piastri in second, while Russell’s team mate Lewis Hamilton slotted into third place on the timesheets.
