Grand Prix victory is a triumph reserved for a select few, but there are many worthy drivers who never stood on the top step of the podium.
In the case of Tom Pryce, it was tragedy that stopped him from winning a Grand Prix.
Other times it was chance that halted drivers' hopes, with the likes of Stefan Bellof coming so close to victory at Monaco, Jean-Pierre Jarier losing out thanks to cruel luck for Shadow and Lotus, and ill-fate stopping Martin Brundle and Derek Warwick from likely wins.

Not even Ferrari alumni Jean Behra and Stefan Johansson could reach the top step.
