There’s just one more race to go ahead of the summer break – and there was plenty to talk about on Thursday at Spa ahead of the 2023 Belgian Grand Prix that will bring the first half of the season to a close.
Max Verstappen arrived at one of his home races – his mother Sophie Kumpen is Belgian, while father Jos Verstappen is Dutch – on a tremendous run of form that’s seen him win every race since Miami back in early May.

That run of seven victories has also allowed Red Bull to maintain their unblemished record this season, as well as seeing them break McLaren’s 35-year-old record for most consecutive victories to start a season.
Elsewhere, drivers prepared to face the F1 Sprint format once again, while attention was focused on the likes of Lando Norris – currently on a hot streak of two consecutive P2 finishes for McLaren – F1 returnee Daniel Ricciardo and Williams, who’ll hope that their slippery FW45 could spring a surprise at Spa.
