WEEKEND WARM-UP: The atmosphere is already ramping up in Austin as Red Bull chase another title
The F1 circus has headed back to Austin as the USA plays host to a second race of the season, following the fanfare of Miami earlier this year. It’s always a weekend that buzzes from start to finish, with the fans out in force to see the drivers in action.
Max Verstappen may have already secured the driver’s title, but he's still chasing a record season-wins tally while his Red Bull team could clinch the constructors’ crown this weekend. They haven’t won that title since 2013 and will be keen to wrap it up with three races to spare.
Elsewhere, there will be a host of Friday drivers in action in FP1, with all eyes on home favourite Logan Sergeant as he tries to prove his worth with Williams, where a 2023 race seat is still up for grabs. And while Daniel Ricciardo might not hail from these shores, he counts Austin as pretty much a second home and is always on good form here – he even rode a horse into the paddock on Thursday.
